Electrical Senior Site Foreman

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Senior Site Foreman to lead daily construction activities on solar PV projects in Johannesburg. The role involves supervising teams, managing subcontractors, and ensuring high‑quality DC cabling and module installation in line with project specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily construction activities on site, allocating teams and resources effectively.
• Oversee DC cabling installation, routing, termination and solar PV stringing according to approved drawings.
• Coordinate the installation and connection of PV modules, strings and associated DC cabling.
• Conduct regular site inspections, identify defects and ensure work meets the project programme and deadlines.
• Read and interpret construction, layout and electrical drawings to guide site teams.
• Enforce health and safety procedures, report unsafe conditions and ensure compliance with Method Statements and Inspection Test Plans.
• Maintain accurate daily site records, progress reports and timesheets.
• Liaise with engineers, supervisors and subcontractors to resolve site‑related issues.

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 12 / Matric qualification; technical or construction qualification advantageous.
• At least 5 years’ experience as a Site Foreman or Senior Foreman on solar PV or renewable energy projects.
• Proven hands‑on experience with DC cabling and solar PV stringing.
• Strong ability to read and interpret construction and electrical drawings.
• Good knowledge of occupational health and safety requirements.
