Electrical Assistant

About the role

Greenro Solutions is hiring a full-time Electrical Assistant in Upington to assist with the accurate and safe set-up of electrical equipment, and the installation, maintenance and commissioning of electrical wiring, control and instrumentation systems. The role also covers fault finding and repairs on electrical systems, both on site and in the workshop.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12)
• N3 Certificate in Electrical Engineering (non-negotiable)
• ORHVS certificate (advantage)
• First Aid Level 1 (advantage)
• Valid driver's licence
• 2-3 years' experience in electrical areas within a construction environment
• 2-3 years of post-experience in maintaining electrical infrastructure such as backup generators, lighting, MV switchgear, transformers, UPS and LV building installations
• Proof of medium voltage or ORHVS training (advantage)

Required skills

• Troubleshooting and fault finding on electrical infrastructure
• Fault finding and repairs, panel wiring
• Knowledge of electrical equipment and tools, their design, use, repair and maintenance
• Knowledge of electrical hazards
• Basic knowledge of computer-aided design tools, soft starters and drives setup and commissioning, and MS Office and Outlook
• Knowledge of Schneider and Siemens products and electrical system design analysis (advantageous)
