Duty Technician (Hotel Maintenance)

About the role

As a Duty Technician at Mama Shelter Cape Town, you will keep the hotel running smoothly behind the scenes. You will be responsible for maintaining all facilities, ensuring safety and functionality, and supporting the guest experience through prompt technical solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out daily maintenance tasks, repairs and troubleshooting across guest rooms and public areas.
• Support preventive‑maintenance schedules, inspections and routine checks to avoid breakdowns.
• Respond quickly to maintenance requests, guaranteeing safe and comfortable environments for guests.
• Assist the Engineering team during the pre‑opening phase with equipment checks, testing, snagging and installations.
• Ensure all work complies with health, safety, environmental and hotel standards.
• Diagnose technical issues, perform repairs efficiently and escalate complex problems when needed.
• Help maintain and monitor hotel equipment and systems.
