Duty Manager - Five-Star Hotel

About the role

Karen Tupper Recruitment is advertising a full-time Duty Manager position in the Western Cape, South Africa. The role oversees the guest experience across the hotel and keeps service standards high during busy periods.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the guest experience throughout the hotel and resolve guest complaints promptly with recovery plans
• Welcome and engage VIP and returning guests personally
• Maintain a strong presence during breakfast and dinner service
• Inspect guest-facing areas regularly for cleanliness, maintenance and service standards
• Support Front Office and Concierge operations when required
• Monitor guest feedback, online reviews and satisfaction surveys, and run quality audits
• Promote room upgrades, facilities, loyalty programmes and additional services
• Assist with risk management, lost property and special guest requests

Required profile

• South African citizen residing in the Cape Town area
• Matric / Grade 12 qualification; a hospitality management diploma or degree is advantageous
• At least 3 years of management experience, preferably in a five-star hotel
• Fluent English with excellent written and verbal communication
• Well presented, professional and able to work under pressure
