About the role
If you have Grade 10 and are looking for a job, this opportunity is for you. Transnet company is hiring permanent drivers and general workers for terminal operations in Germiston. The role involves handling container wagons, performing ad‑hoc duties and supporting safety and maintenance teams.
Key responsibilities
- Open and close twist locks of container wagons.
- Perform terminal ad‑hoc duties such as office work and security tasks.
- Clean buildings and containers to maintain a safe environment.
- Assist electrical engineering activities and collaborate with boilermakers when needed.
- Carry out code 10‑14 driver responsibilities.
- Support machine operators and the safety officer as required.
Required profile
- Grade 10 or Level 2 qualification.
- Physically fit and able to handle manual tasks.
- People‑oriented, safety conscious and culturally aware.
- Good reading and writing abilities.
- Capable of decision making and effective communication.
Required skills
- Cleaning procedures and techniques.
- Opening and closing twist locks on container wagons.
