Distribution Planner / Junior Consultant – Smart Supply Chains

About the role

The Distribution Planner / Junior Consultant supports the VSC Smart Supply Chains unit by planning and tracking delivery routes using market‑leading software. The role focuses on maintaining accurate KPIs, producing regular performance reports, and contributing to strategic optimisation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and monitor daily routes, incorporating new customers and non‑delivery days (NDDs) into the system.
• Generate daily shift reports and monthly KPI scorecards for review by consultants and contract managers.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities and liaise with consultants and contract managers on fleet optimisation.
• Review fleet performance metrics and monitor vehicle reporting on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
• Provide ad‑hoc consulting support for strategic optimisation projects such as fleet mix, service day planning, and network modelling.

• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Data analysis and manipulation capabilities.
• Experience with route planning and adherence software.
• General computer literacy with Microsoft Office suite.
