Distribution Planner / Junior Consultant

About the role

The Distribution Planner / Junior Consultant will use market‑leading planning and route‑adherence software to design, monitor and optimise distribution routes. The role involves daily route planning, KPI tracking, reporting and supporting strategic optimisation initiatives for the client’s supply chain.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and maintain daily routes, incorporating new customers and non‑delivery days, and review during weekly site audits.
• Generate daily shift reports on actual route performance and forward them to the consultant and contract manager.
• Produce monthly KPI scorecards and reports for discussion in customer workshops.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities and collaborate with consultants and contract managers on fleet KPI reviews and vehicle monitoring.
• Support ad‑hoc strategic optimisation projects such as fleet mix, service day planning, master route optimisation and network modelling.

Required profile

• Result‑oriented with strong problem‑solving abilities and a proactive attitude.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients, drivers and internal teams.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team focused on specific outcomes.

Required skills

• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word.
• Data analysis capability to manipulate and interpret routing and performance data.
