Dispensing Optician – Garden Route

About the role

An established, client-focused optical practice in the Garden Route, Western Cape, is looking for an experienced Dispensing Optician. The practice values quality service, professionalism and client relationships, and wants someone who takes pride in helping clients find eyewear suited to their individual needs.

Key responsibilities

• Assist clients in selecting eyewear and lenses based on their specific needs and preferences.
• Provide accurate measurements and fittings to ensure optimal vision correction.
• Advise on lens materials, coatings and frames, considering style, comfort and functionality.
• Collaborate with optometrists and other team members to ensure seamless patient care.
• Maintain inventory and order eyewear products as needed.
• Repair and adjust eyewear.
• Stay up to date with the latest trends and advances in optical technology.

Required profile

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in a private optical practice.
• Fluency in both Afrikaans and English (essential).
• Strong knowledge of optical dispensing and eyewear products.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Professional, client-focused and service-oriented approach.
• Able to work independently and contribute positively to a team.
