Dispatch Supervisor – FMCG Food (Durban)

About the role

A well‑established food manufacturing company in Durban is seeking an experienced Dispatch Supervisor to lead daily dispatch operations. The role ensures orders are picked, checked, loaded and dispatched accurately, on time, and in compliance with food‑safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily dispatch team and operations.
• Plan, pick, check and load orders, verifying quantities against invoices and delivery documents.
• Coordinate vehicle loading, optimise transport utilisation and monitor delivery schedules.
• Maintain accurate dispatch records, investigate shortages or damages, and ensure product rotation and temperature controls.
• Enforce food‑safety, GMP, hygiene and OHS requirements in the dispatch area.
• Prepare daily dispatch reports, manage staff attendance, and drive continuous improvement of SOPs.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Dispatch Supervisor, preferably in FMCG or food manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of dispatch, stock control and order‑fulfilment processes.
• Proven leadership, communication and organisational abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment and solve problems quickly.

Required skills

• Proficient use of Microsoft Excel.
• Computer literacy with ability to manage documentation and reporting tools.
