Dispatch Controller – Operations Center

About the role

Valterra Platinum is seeking a Dispatch Controller for its Operations Centre in Mokopane, Limpopo. The role ensures continuous equipment availability and optimal utilisation across the mining site by monitoring the Fleet Management System and coordinating with operators, supervisors, and service providers.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor operational status of all mobile and support equipment via the Fleet Management System (FMS).
• Identify, confirm, and log equipment breakdowns or delays.
• Provide first‑level dispatch support in line with Standard Operating Procedures.
• Initiate call‑outs to service providers or contractors as required.
• Escalate equipment availability issues to the Dispatch Supervisor or Pit Supervision.
• Reallocate equipment in the system to maintain operational continuity.
• Track equipment utilisation, cycle times, queues and delays to support optimal allocation.
• Communicate operational constraints to relevant stakeholders.
• Receive and process status updates from Pit Supervision and equipment operators.
• Capture operational needs from foremen and supervisors and confirm equipment locations.
• Manage radio and telephone communications following protocol.
• Respond to requests for operational and production data from the dispatch system.
• Relay accurate information between the control room, pit supervision and operational teams.
• Extract and provide production and operational data reports as requested.

Required profile

• Ability to monitor equipment status using the Fleet Management System.
• Familiarity with standard operating procedures for equipment dispatch.
• Strong communication skills for radio and telephone coordination.
• Capability to log and report equipment breakdowns and operational delays.
• Attention to detail in data capture and reporting.
