Disaster Recovery Architect (IT & OT)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Disaster Recovery Architect to join our Disaster Recovery Management team in Johannesburg. You will design, implement and operate DR solutions across both IT and Operational Technology environments for a global enterprise.

Key responsibilities

• Design and maintain end‑to‑end Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity architectures aligned with business needs.
• Lead DRaaS initiatives and cloud‑based recovery solutions for Azure, Microsoft 365 and IaaS/PaaS platforms.
• Plan and execute datacenter failover/failback tests, as well as OT recovery drills for PLC, DCS and SCADA systems.
• Define annual recovery testing calendars, coordinate simulations and manage incident tracking.
• Present DR designs to engineering and architecture review boards and recommend improvements.

Required profile

• 12‑15+ years of overall IT experience, including 8+ years in technology architecture and disaster recovery.
• 3+ years managing resiliency in Operational Technology environments.
• Proven experience conducting enterprise‑wide DR drills, site failovers and failbacks.
