Director of Market Development

About the role

TransUnion is on a mission to enable scaled growth across international markets through strategic insights and market activation. As Director of Market Development you will be a catalyst for transformation – shaping commercial strategies, accelerating go‑to‑market initiatives and driving solution commercialization across TransUnion Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute market development strategies that unlock scalable growth.
• Deliver market sizing, intelligence and support localisation of adjacency strategies to identify new opportunities.
• Champion practice industrialisation for scalable growth and support upskilling of sellers with industry‑expertise training.
• Lead and expand the ‘Thematic Selling’ strategy, creating playbooks to deepen industry relevance.
• Provide actionable insights on industry and key client growth to inform GTM plans.
• Drive strategic initiatives and support rollout of the client engagement model for operational excellence.
• Shape industry perspectives through market intelligence and cross‑functional collaboration.
• Influence product lifecycle decisions and identify new use cases that drive adoption and revenue growth.
• Amplify thought leadership and strengthen TransUnion’s brand presence in local markets in partnership with Marketing and Product teams.
• Activate strategic client events and ecosystem partnerships to position TransUnion as a trusted advisor.
• Build initiatives that reinforce reputation and deepen client engagement.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics or related field; MBA preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in market development, strategy or go‑to‑market roles within B2B or data‑driven industries.
• Proven ability to translate insights into actionable growth strategies.
• Experience navigating complex, matrixed organisations across multiple geographies.
• Exceptional stakeholder management and cross‑functional leadership skills.
• Strong analytical capability in market sizing, intelligence and commercialization.
