Director of Ethics Management & Advocacy

About the role

The Director of Ethics Management & Advocacy will lead the Office for Ethics and Accountability in developing, implementing and reviewing the organisation's ethics, integrity and conflict‑of‑interest frameworks. The role ensures compliance with relevant legislation, provides strategic advice on ethical matters and drives awareness programmes across the NPA.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the ethics management and conflict‑of‑interest strategy, including risk‑identification and mitigation.
• Oversee the financial disclosure framework, conduct lifestyle reviews and ensure robust integrity vetting.
• Design and deliver ethics and integrity advocacy and awareness programmes.
• Draft, implement and periodically review ethics policies, procedures and related guidance.
• Report on ethics compliance and provide advice to senior management on ethical issues.

Required profile

• An NQF Level 7 qualification recognised by SAQA in ethics, integrity, corruption or a related field.
• Minimum five years of middle‑ or senior‑managerial experience in an ethics or integrity environment.
• Certification as an Ethics Officer (preferred) and a Nyukela Certificate from the National School of Government.
• Security clearance at least Confidential, no pending convictions, and a valid driver’s licence.
• Demonstrated competency in independent, professional, accountable and credible decision‑making.
