Director Entrepreneurship and Social Impact

About the role

The Director of Entrepreneurship and Social Impact will lead community and entrepreneurship initiatives across AB InBev’s South African business units. This senior position is responsible for designing and delivering programmes that demonstrate the company’s contribution to inclusive growth and support a favourable regulatory environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, govern and scale flagship programmes such as SAB SHARP and Retailer Development to strengthen entrepreneurs and retailers.
• Generate impact data, secure independent validation and translate findings into advocacy proof points for regulators, government and industry bodies.
• Collaborate with Public Affairs, Legal, Sustainability and other functions to align programme design with policy priorities and regulatory risk.
• Manage multi‑market budgets, partners, risks and performance routines, ensuring accountability and continuous improvement.
• Build and maintain partnerships with government agencies, development finance institutions, NGOs, universities and incubators to extend programme reach and secure external funding.
• Provide governance, risk management and performance reporting across all South markets, contributing to sustainability disclosures and corporate communications.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Public Policy, Corporate Affairs, Sustainability or a related field; postgraduate qualification is a plus.
• 8‑10 years of experience in corporate affairs, public policy, regulatory affairs, enterprise development or sustainability, with a track record of leading complex, multi‑market programmes.
• Demonstrated experience in the FMCG sector; consulting experience is preferred.
• Strong organisational and stakeholder‑influence skills, with a solid understanding of regulation, public policy and theories of change.
