Digital Engineer

About the role

Our client, a leading financial services provider, is seeking a Digital Engineer to join a collaborative team of over 600 professionals in Johannesburg. Working in a hybrid environment, you will help shape technology solutions that improve client efficiency and enhance user experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain software solutions that optimise client processes.
• Own the full project lifecycle, from diagnosing inefficiencies to configuring technology solutions.
• Analyse existing systems using service‑design and industrial‑engineering techniques to pinpoint bottlene‑cks.
• Redesign customer journeys and workflows for greater efficiency, compliance and usability.
• Translate strategic vision into clear technical requirements, including platform functionality and integrations.
• Configure the Customer Engagement Platform and contribute to core platform enhancements based on research and client feedback.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g., Industrial Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science) is advantageous.
• Strong grasp of industrial‑engineering principles, process mapping, service design and CX journey design.
• Proven ability to define business requirements and conduct structured analytical research.
• Strategic thinker who can turn high‑level visions into practical technical execution.
• Excellent communicator, able to present to clients, executives and developers and produce clear technical specifications.
• Detail‑oriented, collaborative and focused on end‑to‑end delivery.
