Digital Copywriter (Fixed-Term Contract)

About the role

Clicks Group is looking for a Digital Copywriter for its Digital Marketing team, based at the Head Office in Cape Town. The role reports to the Creative Assets Manager and focuses on conceptualising, creating and writing copy for digital platforms to communicate product offers and information. It is a fixed-term contract.

Key responsibilities

• Craft clear, creative and grammatically correct product copy for the online store, following in-house style and language guidelines.
• Write copy that communicates business objectives to target audiences across digital channels, including market-facing and internal communications.
• Understand the target audience for each brief and execute brand briefs by creating, sourcing and editing content in line with brand guidelines, tone of voice and cultural differences.
• Produce SEO-optimised content for email, social media, web, blog, video and direct mail.
• Collaborate with other teams so content complements design, channel and offline content and strengthens the customer journey.
• Stay up to date with SEO trends and carry out keyword research to improve organic rankings.
• Manage time to deliver several brand briefs on deadline and proofread accurately across all media.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience, preferably as a digital copywriter in an advertising agency or communications company.
• Diploma in copywriting or a BA in English, another language, psychology, creative writing, journalism or digital marketing.
• Experience producing content for blogs, articles, emails, social media posts, websites and video.

Required skills

• Great command of English and excellent writing and proofreading skills.
• Understanding of digital marketing and SEO.
• Understanding of HTML or WordPress.
• Ability to interpret briefs, adapt content to different audiences and platforms, and work well in a team.
