Desktop Support IT Technician – Microsoft 365 & Systems Support

About the role

The Desktop Support IT Technician will deliver first‑ and second‑line support to end users, ensuring the organisation’s IT environment runs smoothly, securely and efficiently. You will work both remotely and on‑site, assisting staff with hardware, software and network issues while managing Microsoft 365 and Active Directory services.

Key responsibilities

• Provide remote and on‑site first‑ and second‑line technical support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices and peripherals.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, printer, email and connectivity problems.
• Administer Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, OneDrive, Teams and SharePoint.
• Manage Active Directory accounts, groups, password resets and access permissions.
• Maintain local and cloud servers, virtual environments, and perform patch management.
• Monitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues and support telecommunications, CCTV and access‑control systems.
• Oversee backup processes, perform recovery tasks and support disaster‑recovery initiatives.
• Create user guides, technical documentation and provide training on IT security best practices.
