Design Draughtsman in Training (DDIT)

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Design Draughtsman in Training (DDIT) to join our engineering team. This entry‑level position offers hands‑on experience in creating and managing technical drawings while developing core CAD competencies.

Key responsibilities

• Produce engineering drawings and schematics using CAD software.
• Interpret design specifications and engineering standards.
• Maintain and control engineering documents and drawing revisions.
• Perform measurement, verification and quality checks on drafted components.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and cross‑functional teams to ensure design accuracy.

Required profile

• Mechanical Engineering National N Diploma/Diploma with a focus on Engineering Drawing or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience in an engineering or industrial environment.
• Strong attention to detail, accountability and professionalism.
• Ability to work under pressure, think analytically and adapt continuously.
• Effective communication, teamwork and time‑management skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD software.
• Experience using AutoCAD, Plant 3D, Inventor and Solid Edge.
• Knowledge of engineering drawing interpretation and document control systems.
• Understanding of engineering standards and measurement verification.
