Deputy Head – Organisation Change & Efficiency

About the role

The Deputy Head will plan, lead and direct the Organisation Development and Special Projects function, shaping strategic short‑ and long‑term interventions to improve efficiency, control and performance across the department.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and align functional objectives with the unit’s strategic intent, ensuring forward planning and strategic alignment.
• Direct the performance, productivity and utilisation of departmental personnel, setting standards and performance measures.
• Prepare capital and operating estimates, monitor expenditure and control budgets against approved allocations.
• Develop, implement and review policies, procedures and system controls, ensuring effectiveness.
• Manage implementation, reporting and delivery phases of major complex programmes.
• Translate departmental vision into action by driving organisational design, culture shift, senior team effectiveness and collaboration.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (NQF Level 7) in Organisational Development, Operations Management, Industrial Psychology, Human Resource Management or a related field.
• At least 8 years of relevant experience, including a minimum of 3 years in a senior management role, and a valid motor vehicle driving licence.
