Deputy Director – Finance Support Services

About the role

The Deputy Director – Finance Support Services provides strategic finance support to the Roads and Transport Department of the City of Tshwane. This senior role ensures value for money, cost‑effective service delivery and robust financial governance across the department.

Key responsibilities

• Manage budget management service support operations.
• Prepare, monitor and control the annual budget to ensure value for money and cost‑effective service delivery.
• Oversee supply chain management support operations and define service‑level requirements with internal and external suppliers.
• Manage revenue management support operations and ensure effective corporate governance.
• Implement contract management, capital project management and risk management through sound financial controls.

Required profile

• Three‑year tertiary qualification (national diploma or degree) in Accounting, Financial Management or a related field.
• At least eight years of relevant experience in a financial environment, preferably with managerial exposure.
• Knowledge of Municipal Finance Management Act compliance and a valid Code B driving licence.
• Advanced computer literacy, especially Excel, and experience with SAP.
• Willingness to undergo a criminal record check and fingerprinting.
