Departmental Manager – Picking (Montague Gardens DC)

About the role

The Departmental Manager – Picking will lead the picking operations at our Montague Gardens Distribution Centre in Cape Town. You will coordinate daily activities, ensure compliance with SOPs, and drive performance against key indicators.

Key responsibilities

• Utilise people and resources efficiently to meet productivity targets.
• Lead the department to maintain process compliance, SOPs, cut‑offs and daily reporting.
• Manage systems and achieve budgeted financial goals.
• Enforce safety procedures and handle emergencies to maintain a safe work environment.
• Engage with internal stakeholders (e.g., Stores) and external suppliers to resolve queries promptly.
• Analyse operational data, interpret results and drive continuous process improvement.
• Deliver high levels of service to customers while upholding the brand’s values.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) required; tertiary qualification desirable.
• 3–5 years experience in a distribution centre environment.
• Strong planning, organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to lead, supervise and make decisions aligned with company values.

Required skills

• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint.
