Dental Risk Manager – Health Professional Unit

About the role

The Dental Risk Manager will lead risk management activities for dental services within the Health Professional Unit. You will identify, assess and mitigate clinical, operational and regulatory risks, ensuring compliance with legislation, professional standards and internal policies.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for dental care pathways.
• Lead incident management, root‑cause analyses and corrective‑action plans following adverse events or complaints.
• Monitor compliance with healthcare legislation, coding standards and Discovery Health product requirements.
• Provide risk reporting, dashboards and training to dental teams and governance bodies.
• Collaborate with quality, analytics and governance teams to drive a culture of patient safety and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years experience in health funding, corporate health‑care or product modelling.
• Proven track record of leading successful business‑initiative implementations.
• 3–5 years experience in the health‑care industry and 3–4 years of clinical training.
• Medical degree or a degree in analytics, with strong analytical and financial modelling capabilities.
• Structured thinking, problem‑solving and ability to manage multiple projects independently.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Experience with analytical, financial and product modelling.
• Understanding of dental care delivery processes and relevant coding systems.
• Consulting acumen and ability to work collaboratively with analytical teams.
