Data Warehouse Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a hands‑on Data Engineer to own and evolve our data warehouse, currently built on SQL Server and being migrated to ClickHouse. The role covers the full data lifecycle, from ingestion to providing self‑service analytics via tools such as Metabase and LLM‑based query interfaces.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and migrate the existing data warehouse from SQL Server to ClickHouse, ensuring a smooth transition.
• Design, build and operate ingestion pipelines that reliably land raw data on schedule.
• Apply appropriate transformations, naming conventions and indexing strategies to keep data performant and analytics‑ready.
• Develop and maintain views, materialized views and data access layers that abstract raw storage for end users.
• Structure data for self‑service use, including clear schema naming, hierarchies and documentation.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate reporting needs into scalable data models.

Required profile

• Strong intermediate experience in data engineering and data modelling.
• Ability to work independently on well‑scoped problems and make sound technical decisions.
• Willingness to challenge requirements that could lead to poor data design.
• Senior support available for large‑scale architectural decisions.

Required skills

• Advanced SQL query writing, schema design, indexing and performance tuning.
• Hands‑on experience with columnar or analytical databases such as ClickHouse, BigQuery, Redshift or Snowflake.
• Solid understanding of star/snowflake schemas and dimensional modelling.
• Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Familiarity with BI or self‑service analytics tools (Metabase, Tableau, Power BI, etc.).
• Proficiency in Python or a dbt‑based transformation environment.
