Data Scientist

About the role

We are looking for a practical, hands‑on Data Scientist who can work across analytics, machine learning, business intelligence and applied AI. The role blends traditional data‑science tasks with newer AI work such as large‑language‑model integration, and requires ownership from data exploration through to deployment.

Key responsibilities

• Extract, clean, transform and analyse messy real‑world data using SQL and Python.
• Investigate business problems, identify data‑driven opportunities and translate loosely defined requirements into analytical solutions.
• Build, evaluate and maintain machine‑learning models for classification, regression, clustering and other use cases, monitoring performance and triggering retraining when needed.
• Design, develop and optimise Power BI dashboards, write DAX measures and implement data‑modeling concepts such as star schemas.
• Write efficient SQL queries, including joins, CTEs, window functions and stored procedures, and collaborate with data engineers on pipeline enhancements.
• Consume and integrate data from REST APIs, handling authentication, pagination and JSON payloads with Python.
• Prototype practical solutions with large language models, including prompting, structured outputs, tool‑calling and AI‑agent workflows.

Required profile

• Hands‑on, pragmatic approach to data science and applied AI.
• Comfortable working with ambiguous, real‑world data sets and delivering end‑to‑end solutions.
• Ability to communicate findings clearly to business stakeholders.

Required skills

• Python programming (data manipulation, API integration).
• SQL (joins, CTEs, window functions, stored procedures).
• Power BI, DAX, Power Query and data‑modeling concepts.
• Machine‑learning techniques: classification, regression, clustering, feature engineering, model evaluation (precision, recall, F1, ROC‑AUC, RMSE, MAE).
• REST API concepts: authentication, pagination, JSON handling.
• Large language models and AI‑agent prototyping (prompt engineering, tool/function calling).
