Data Analyst – Power BI & Azure Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a Data Analyst to join our hybrid team in Gauteng. The role focuses on delivering actionable insights through the Microsoft Power BI and Azure ecosystem, supporting our marketing research initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze business data to generate insights that drive decision‑making.
• Design, develop and maintain Power BI reports and interactive dashboards.
• Write complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation and analysis.
• Work with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse Analytics and Azure Data Factory to manage and transform data pipelines.
• Develop and optimise data models for reporting and analytics.
• Create paginated reports using Power BI Report Builder.
• Implement and maintain Data Lake/Delta Lake solutions.
• Collaborate with data engineers and business stakeholders to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
• Apply DevOps practices for version control and deployment of BI solutions.
• Perform predictive analytics with Python to produce data‑driven forecasts.
• Process large datasets using Databricks.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Cloud BI Platform.
• Proficiency in SQL for querying and data manipulation.
• Advanced Power BI skills, including DAX and Power Query (M language).
• Experience with Power BI Report Builder.
• Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory and Azure Synapse Analytics.
• Working knowledge of Data Lake / Delta Lake architecture.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices for data projects.
• Competency in Python for predictive analytics.
• Experience with Databricks for big‑data processing.
