Customer‑Focused Sales Clerk – Retail Branch

About the role

Hinterland is looking for a customer‑focused and energetic Sales Clerk to support daily retail operations by delivering excellent service and driving direct sales within the branch. This role plays an important part in ensuring customers receive professional product advice while contributing to the achievement of sales targets and overall branch performance.

Key responsibilities

• Assist customers in selecting and purchasing agricultural products, ensuring they receive excellent customer service.
• Support daily retail operations and deliver high‑quality service to shoppers.
• Drive direct sales within the branch and help meet sales goals.
• Provide professional product advice tailored to customer needs.
• Contribute to achieving daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets.
• Recommend appropriate products based on customer requirements.
• Uphold customer‑service principles and retail processes throughout interactions.
• Help improve overall branch performance through proactive sales activities.

Required profile

• National Senior Certificate (NQF Level 4).
• Minimum of 2 years experience in a direct sales environment.
• Strong ability to assist customers with product selection and recommendations.
• Proven experience meeting daily, weekly and monthly sales targets.
• Good understanding of customer‑service principles and retail processes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
