Customer Support Agent - Telco Upgrades Contact Centre

About the role

ShiftMate is recruiting Customer Support Agents for a contact centre in Johannesburg that handles telco upgrade campaigns. The centre contacts existing contract customers who qualify for a new device or a better package, and agents support customers by phone, email and chat, resolving queries, updating records and processing upgrade orders. The role is permanent and full-time.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to customers by phone, email and live chat
• Resolve queries, update customer records and process routine requests
• Escalate complex cases to the right team and track them to the end
• Write clear, polite messages in good English
• Meet reply-time and quality targets
• Process upgrade orders, delivery queries and contract paperwork

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12)
• At least 6 months of call-centre or customer-service experience; email or chat support experience is an advantage
• Strong written English, as you will write to customers every day
• Organised and able to handle several open cases at once

Required skills

• Good typing speed
• Confident use of email, chat tools and a CRM
