Custody Client Service Specialist

About the role

FNB is looking for a Custody Client Service Specialist in Johannesburg to deliver high-quality service and support to custody clients. As a primary point of contact, you will guide clients from account setup through to closure, keeping communication open and proactive so that clients retain their business and enjoy a better experience with FNB's custody offerings.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve client issues on custody accounts and corporate events, including queries about dividends, income distributions and mandatory and voluntary corporate actions, using the bank's query management tools
• Take part in coordinating, monitoring, recording and reconciling account openings, amendments and closures, keeping accurate client records
• Answer questions on custody and settlement activities and cash management, such as unconfirmed or mismatched trades, failed trades and debit/credit entry discrepancies
• Share supporting reports with clients according to service level agreements and safeguard client documentation needed for account administration
• Contribute to client visits and service reviews, which may include preparing supporting documents for your line manager
• Follow established processes and controls to identify and mitigate operational and reputational risks, escalating issues promptly
• Apply a strong understanding of regulatory and compliance matters for custody services
• Build collaborative relationships across teams and specialisations, and report regularly on service delivery performance against service level agreements and customer targets

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 12; a tertiary qualification is an advantage
• At least 3 to 5 years of experience in a client services environment
• Previous experience in a securities or custody environment is highly beneficial
