About the role
Herolim Private Hospital is looking for a CSSD Assistant to report to the Unit Manager. The post is part of a multidisciplinary team delivering nursing activities and quality patient care. The position is permanent and based in Mthatha, Eastern Cape.
Key responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all Standard Operating Policies and Procedures.
- Carry out all departmental duties as assigned by the team leader.
- Receive, check and pack sets and sterile loan sets.
- Manage linen and make efficient use of equipment and materials.
- Maintain health, safety and infection control standards.
- Assist with stock control procedures.
Required profile
- Grade 12.
- Two years' experience in the private healthcare sector.
- Willingness to work flexible hours.
Required skills
- Working knowledge of autoclaves and instrument washing.
- Experience packing theatre equipment and sets.
- Understanding of theatre linen management.
- Working knowledge of CSSD stock management.
