Credit Analyst

About the role

We're on the lookout for a sharp and analytical Credit Analyst to join our team. In this role you will dive deep into financial data to help us make smart, informed lending decisions and act as the gatekeeper for loan approvals.

Key responsibilities

• Review and analyze financial statements, credit reports, and other documents submitted by loan applicants to identify trends and potential risks.
• Assess creditworthiness by evaluating factors that could impact loan success and present well‑supported recommendations to the underwriting team.
• Prepare detailed credit summaries and reports for each loan application, ensuring clarity and conciseness.
• Ensure all loans comply with internal policies and relevant South African financial regulations.
• Collaborate closely with Loan Officers and Underwriters, providing insights and communicating findings effectively.

Required profile

• A degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• 2‑3 years of experience in credit analysis or a similar role.
• Strong understanding of financial statements and financial modeling.
• Familiarity with South African credit regulations and lending practices.
• Excellent analytical and critical‑thinking abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to translate complex data into clear recommendations.
