Crane Driver – Mobile Crane Operations

About the role

Sappi is seeking a reliable Crane Driver to operate mobile cranes on site, supporting riggers and ensuring safe lifting operations in a heavy‑engineering environment.

Key responsibilities

• Operate mobile crane to assist riggers with loading, off‑loading, removal and installation of equipment.
• Apply colour‑coding to all lifting equipment as required.
• Identify and replace or send for repair any equipment that is unsafe.
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections and maintain housekeeping standards.
• Clean machinery weekly and assist with transportation of gearboxes, motors and pumps.
• Operate Bartow, tractors and forklifts when licensed and competent.
• Work day or night shifts and provide standby support as needed.

Required profile

• Matric and N2 Engineering qualification (N3 desirable).
• Minimum two years’ experience in a heavy engineering environment.
