Cost Estimator

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Cost Estimator to join our Estimating team in Centurion. The role involves producing accurate, competitive cost estimates to support tender submissions, contract negotiations and project budgeting across our construction divisions.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse drawings, specifications and scopes of work to prepare accurate cost estimates for projects, tenders and contracts.
• Source and evaluate quotations from suppliers, subcontractors and service providers to ensure competitive pricing.
• Compile detailed bills of quantities (BOQs) and material take‑offs, and calculate labour, material, plant and overhead costs.
• Liaise with engineering, operations, IMS and procurement teams to gather project requirements and clarify scope.
• Maintain up‑to‑date pricing databases, rate schedules and supplier records.
• Support contract negotiations by providing cost breakdowns and justifications.
• Review and reconcile actual project costs against original estimates for continuous improvement.
• Travel to sites as required to assess scope and gather site‑specific information.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in cost estimating within an industrial contracting, construction, engineering or maintenance/outage services environment.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel to sites.
• Police clearance.

• Estimating software (e.g., RIB Candy, WinQS or similar).
