Cost Estimator - Electrical & Engineering Tenders

About the role

Greenro Solutions is looking for a Cost Estimator in Midrand to calculate and estimate costs for electrical and engineering tender projects. The role covers bidding on and pricing electrical and industrial tenders, which is central to judging project feasibility, preparing competitive bids and protecting profitability.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) and an ND in Electrical Engineering
• 3-5 years of formal estimating experience on industrial electrical projects
• 3-5 years of experience reading and analysing requests for proposals (RFPs) and requests for quotations (RFQs)
• Experience reading and analysing technical requirements and drawings
• Preferred: Project Management accreditation, ECSA membership and membership of a proposals professional body

Required skills

• General knowledge of tender and contractual processes, requirements and terminology
• Cost and work package estimation techniques
• Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and calculation manipulation
• Basic understanding of financial concepts
• Basic understanding of electrical and automation engineering concepts, components, systems, methodologies and processes
