Cost Accountant – Mining Operations

About the role

Join a leading mining operation as a Cost Accountant and take ownership of mine costing, budgeting, variance analysis, inventory management, and financial reporting. Your insights will directly influence profitability and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly cost reports and conduct variance analysis.
• Analyse mining, production, and operational costs.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost‑control initiatives.
• Monitor inventory movements and allocate costs accurately.
• Partner with mine and operational managers to improve profitability.
• Assist with month‑end reporting and financial reconciliations.
• Maintain and enhance costing models and reporting processes.
• Drive continuous improvement across finance and operations.

Required profile

• BCom in Accounting, Finance, or Cost & Management Accounting.
• CIMA qualification completed.
• 3–5+ years of cost accounting experience in mining, heavy industry, manufacturing, or processing.
• Strong analytical and budgeting skills.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems.
