Corporate Commercial Senior Associate - Sandton

About the role

Our client, a well‑established law firm in Sandton, is seeking a highly skilled Corporate Commercial Senior Associate to join its dynamic Corporate & Commercial team. The role offers the chance to work on high‑value corporate transactions, complex commercial matters and strategic advisory work.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements and legal documentation.
• Advise clients on corporate and commercial legal matters across multiple sectors.
• Manage corporate transactions including mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructures and project finance deals.
• Prepare and review documentation such as sale of business agreements, sale of shares agreements, shareholders agreements, partnership agreements, MOIs and commercial contracts.
• Conduct legal research and provide commercially practical advice while ensuring compliance with the Companies Act and related regulations.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships and collaborate effectively with the broader legal team.

Required profile

• LLB degree and admission as an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
• Minimum of 5 years post‑admission experience in corporate and commercial law.
• Proven experience in corporate transactions, mergers and acquisitions and project finance.
• Strong drafting, negotiation and analytical capabilities.
• Demonstrated client engagement and relationship‑management experience.
