Copywriter Specialist

About the role

Capitec is seeking an energetic and self‑motivated Copywriter Specialist to craft internal communications and marketing copy that aligns with the bank’s brand and policy. The role supports both corporate messaging and external promotional activities across multiple channels.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, edit, and distribute formal internal communications ensuring consistency with company policies.
• Create marketing and departmental copy that reflects the brand’s tone and voice.
• Advise on language usage and maintain a unified communication style throughout the organisation.
• Support direct‑marketing initiatives when time permits.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure copy meets business objectives and compliance standards.

Required profile

• Minimum three (3) years of experience in internal communications or business writing within a corporate environment.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Communication, Copywriting or a related field (Grade 12 minimum).
• Understanding of social media platforms and corporate communication processes.
• Clear criminal and credit record, valid driver’s licence, personal vehicle and mobile phone for contact.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SharePoint.
• Experience using Adobe InDesign and/or InCopy.
• Strong command of Microsoft Office suite – Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Knowledge of web copywriting and SEO best practices.
• Ability to translate content between English and Afrikaans.
