Control‑M Operator – Batch Processing Specialist

About the role

Our client is looking for a Control‑M Operator to oversee critical batch processing environments using BMC Control‑M. You will ensure that scheduled workloads run reliably, troubleshoot incidents, and help automate and optimise operational workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and manage BMC Control‑M to maintain availability, reliability and performance of batch processing.
• Identify failed jobs, take corrective action and ensure successful completion of workloads.
• Troubleshoot Control‑M and batch processing incidents, providing timely support to internal stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts and workflows to improve efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate business requirements into batch solutions.
• Conduct performance reviews of batch jobs and recommend optimisation.
• Ensure compliance with security standards, operational procedures and best practices.
• Maintain technical documentation, operating procedures and knowledge‑base articles.
• Mentor junior team members and stay current with Control‑M developments.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of IT operations experience focused on batch processing and automation.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Effective communication and ability to work independently in a 24/7 support environment.
• Ability to prioritise multiple tasks in a time‑sensitive production setting.

Required skills

• BMC Control‑M (job scheduling, monitoring and reporting)
• Batch processing environment support
• Scripting languages such as Python or Perl
• Automation of operational workflows
