Contracts Manager – 3-Month Fixed-Term Role

About the role

We are seeking a Contracts Manager for a three‑month fixed‑term assignment in Centurion, Johannesburg. The role will oversee contract administration, audit performance, and ensure compliance with corporate governance and industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Audit contractor schedules, progress reports and site instructions to monitor performance against baselines and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain contractual records, correspondence, change orders and status reports for all projects.
• Develop plans, budgets and timescales, prepare tender documents and manage extra‑work agreements.
• Ensure compliance with SCM strategy, corporate governance, Mining Charter, BBBEE and SHE regulations.
• Identify and mitigate contractual and supply‑chain risks, drive contracting strategies and monitor supplier performance.
• Lead and coach Contract Administrators, coordinate with project managers, engineers, suppliers and clients.
• Contribute to portfolio management, market intelligence and supply‑strategy development.
• Promote a safe and healthy work environment and ensure adherence to SHE policies.

Required profile

• BCom degree with a commercial focus and a Certificate of Fitness.
• Minimum 8 years of construction and commercial experience, familiar with GCC, FIDIC or NEC contract conditions.
• Proven ability to manage large contract portfolios and lead multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong analytical, negotiation and risk‑management capabilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office and related packages.
• Knowledge of contract administration, audit processes and compliance frameworks.
