About the role
Join a national emergency medical services provider as a Contact Centre Agent in Cape Town. You will handle both emergency and non‑emergency calls, assess situations quickly, and ensure callers are directed to the appropriate provincial services.
Key responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency and non‑emergency telephone calls from the public.
- Gather accurate location and incident details using effective questioning techniques.
- Operate automated dispatch and communication equipment, including computer‑aided dispatch systems.
- Maintain clear, professional communication while working in a 24‑hour environment, including overtime and holidays.
- Document call information accurately and transmit required data to relevant services.
Required profile
- Completed Grade 12 within the last three years (2022‑2025).
- English ≥ 65%, Mathematics ≥ 50% (or Maths Literacy ≥ 70%).
- Life Orientation ≥ 75% and optional CAT ≥ 60%.
- Proof of qualifications must be provided.
- Own transport and ability to work flexible shifts on short notice.
- Good hearing, manual dexterity, and mental alertness for prolonged periods.
