Consultant Obstetrics and Gynaecology – Regional & Rural WA

About the role

The WA Country Health Service is inviting expressions of interest from experienced Consultant Obstetricians and Gynaecologists to deliver specialist care across regional and rural Western Australia. Positions may be fixed‑term, casual or permanent, covering a range of locations such as the Goldfields, Great Southern, Kimberley, Midwest, Pilbara, Southwest and Wheatbelt.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality obstetric and gynaecological services to women in diverse community settings.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient‑centred care pathways.
• Participate in on‑call rosters, emergency response and elective surgical programmes as required.
• Contribute to clinical governance, audit activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Mentor junior medical staff and support training of allied health professionals.

Required profile

• Medical degree with specialist registration in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
• Significant experience in a consultant or senior clinical role, preferably in regional or remote settings.
• Willingness to consider leadership or Head of Department opportunities.
• Commitment to delivering culturally safe care to diverse populations.
