Construction Superintendent – Mining Projects

About the role

The Construction Superintendent leads the daily execution of mining construction projects, ensuring work is performed safely, on schedule, within budget and to the required quality standards. Based in a field office on site, you will coordinate crews, subcontractors and engineers across varying weather conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organise and control daily construction activities on mining sites.
• Interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and material requirements.
• Hire, train and supervise staff, ensuring all safety and competency standards are met.
• Maintain resource availability, equipment readiness and quality‑control processes.
• Conduct safety audits, risk assessments and housekeeping inspections.
• Prepare detailed progress reports and communicate performance to mine management and stakeholders.
• Inspect work performed by employees, contractors and sub‑contractors.
• Participate in project meetings, resolve personnel issues and support union relations.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in construction supervision, preferably in mining.
• Red Seal certification may be required.
• Strong leadership, analytical and communication abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing site conditions.
• Commitment to safety, health and regulatory compliance.
