Construction Manager

About the role

Our client in Knysna is looking for an experienced Construction Manager to lead the planning, coordination and execution of residential and commercial construction projects. You will be responsible for overseeing all site activities from mobilisation to final handover, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day site operations from establishment through project handover.
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, suppliers and on‑site teams.
• Plan daily activities and monitor progress against project programmes.
• Conduct site quality inspections, identify defects and ensure timely rectification.
• Monitor labour productivity, manage workforce performance and control material, plant and equipment usage.
• Identify construction risks and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain compliance with approved drawings, specifications and quality standards.

Required profile

• 5–10 years proven experience as a Site Manager or Construction Manager in residential and commercial construction.
• National Diploma or Degree in Construction Management, Building Science, Civil Engineering or related field (advantageous).
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable transport.
• Ability to accurately interpret and implement architectural, structural, civil, electrical and plumbing drawings.
• Experience managing multiple subcontractors and large‑scale projects.
