Construction Manager – Industrial Development Projects

About the role

The Construction Manager will lead the engineering team in delivering new fulfillment, sortation, delivery, and quick‑commerce facilities across the AMET region. Based in Cape Town, the role involves 40‑60% travel to oversee construction, retrofits, and expansions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end construction projects for new and existing Amazon facilities, ensuring schedule, cost, and quality targets are met.
• Supervise multiple projects simultaneously, from small renovations to large‑scale ($20M+) builds.
• Prepare reports, specifications, and technical analyses to define design requirements and equipment needs.
• Negotiate contracts and change orders with developers, general contractors, and regulatory bodies.
• Assess project performance using KPIs for safety, quality, cost, schedule, and sustainability.
• Coordinate handover activities, turnover documentation, and transition of base‑building management.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of project execution/supervision, real‑estate development, or architecture/design experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Experience with industrial facility construction, including new builds, retrofits, and expansions.
• Ability to work independently in a regional setting with minimal supervision.
