Conceptual Copywriter

About the role

Capitec Bank is seeking a strategic and experienced copywriter to develop audience‑centric concepts and copy that reinforce the brand and drive engagement across all customer touchpoints. The role blends creative storytelling with a deep understanding of marketing objectives, supporting both traditional and digital channels.

Key responsibilities

• Develop compelling copy for integrated marketing campaigns across television, radio, digital advertising, social media and brand collateral.
• Craft campaign concepts, headlines, taglines, scripts and long‑form content that align with brand tone and communication principles.
• Interpret complex marketing briefs and translate strategic objectives into creative communication solutions.
• Participate in ideation sessions, contribute strategic thinking during campaign planning and collaborate with designers, marketers, product teams and external agencies.
• Ensure all copy meets brand, legal, compliance and quality standards while maintaining consistency of voice across channels.
• Present creative recommendations to stakeholders and provide constructive feedback during reviews.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of professional copywriting experience, preferably within an advertising or brand marketing environment.
• Proven track record delivering through‑the‑line campaigns for financial services, retail or consumer brands.
• Portfolio showcasing work across traditional and digital channels.
• Ability to write or communicate in an African language (Sesotho preferred, isiZulu advantageous).
• Clear criminal and credit record.
