Compliance Specialist – Property Facilities Management (12‑Month Fixed‑Term)

About the role

The Compliance Specialist will ensure that all technical and soft facilities‑management services (HVAC, security, cleaning, landscaping, etc.) meet the compliance requirements of the PPP contract and relevant legislation. Reporting to the Quality and Compliance Manager, the role monitors, implements and continuously improves compliance processes across the FM portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and enforce compliance for electrical systems, HVAC, fire detection, lifts, transformers, standby generators, UPS and building‑management systems.
• Interpret and apply compliance legislation and PPP contractual obligations.
• Maintain basic financial understanding to support compliance reporting.
• Assess compliance of the FMC call centre and resolve FM issues through internal systems.

Required profile

• Engineering Technician qualification (electrical, mechanical or civil) with a Facilities Management certification.
• Minimum 5 years of compliance experience in a facilities‑management environment; 7‑10 years preferred.
• BTech/Degree in Engineering, ISO and compliance certifications, and ECSA registration are desirable.
• 2 years of project‑management experience and prior PPP compliance exposure are an advantage.
• Clear criminal, credit and qualifications check; own car required.

Required skills

• HVAC, fire‑detection, lifts, transformers, standby generators, UPS and building‑management system knowledge.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and in‑house FM software.
• Familiarity with Archibus, Info SLS and MS Project (advantage).
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and documentation skills.
