Communications and Visibility Expert

About the role

The Communications and Visibility Expert will lead the design and execution of communication and visibility strategies for EU‑funded development projects, ensuring effective stakeholder engagement and compliance with EU branding guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive communication and visibility plans for multi‑stakeholder initiatives.
• Produce high‑quality communication products such as press releases, newsletters, reports, and digital content.
• Manage visibility activities, including branding, media relations, and dissemination of project results.
• Coordinate with project partners, donors, and local stakeholders to ensure consistent messaging.
• Monitor and report on compliance with EU Communication and Visibility Requirements.
• Support outreach in the energy, climate change and sustainability sectors, where applicable.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or a related field.
• Minimum five years of professional experience in communications, visibility or media relations within development cooperation programmes.
• Proven experience developing communication strategies for EU‑funded or international development projects.
• Experience in the energy, climate change or sustainability sectors is an asset.
• Familiarity with EU visibility and branding guidelines.
• Experience working in South Africa or the Southern African region is desirable.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
