About the role
RCL FOODS, a leading South African food manufacturer, is looking for a proactive Commodity Procurement Assistant to support the commodity procurement function at its Westville head office. Reporting to the Commodity Procurement Manager, the role focuses on administrative tasks related to commodity trades, contracts and supplier management.
Key responsibilities
- Update and maintain the Pricing File and Standard Cost file with daily commodity trades and month‑end currency locks.
- Verify weekly supplier stock registers against the central register and reconcile stock figures with finance.
- Manage SAP contract documents, ensuring contracts are signed, uploaded and tracked in the scheduling tracker.
- Process weighbridge tickets, monitor deliveries against contracted volumes and record any variance.
- Update the FX tracker with new currency purchases, settlements and expiry reminders.
- Support the Commodity Procurement Administration team with vendor queries and maintain registers for storage costs and demurrage charges.
Required profile
- Grade 12 with a Diploma or Degree in Logistics Planning and Supply Chain.
- 1–3 years of procurement experience, preferably in an FMCG environment.
- Good knowledge of MS Office applications.
- Familiarity with SAP is advantageous.
