Commercial Operations Associate – Mentorship to Management

About the role

We are a fast‑growing national retailer seeking a sharp, analytical individual to join our head‑office operations team. Working under direct mentorship from senior leadership, you will gain hands‑on experience with store operational systems, internal audit controls, lease agreements, and logistical problem‑solving, with a clear pathway toward operational management.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate operational bottlenecks across the national store network, analyse root causes and implement scalable solutions.
• Assist with retail lease reviews, manage landlord correspondence and support store rollout planning.
• Develop, monitor and audit operational systems to ensure error‑free stock, cash handling and procedural compliance.
• Lead high‑impact operational and analytical projects under senior leadership guidance.

Required profile

• Completed (or final‑year) BCom/Business/Logistics qualification, or 1‑2 years of practical experience in retail operations, commercial coordination, pricing/inventory administration, or auditing.
• Matric/Grade 12 with Pure Mathematics; full professional fluency in Afrikaans and English.
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable personal transport for daily commuting to Epping 2, Cape Town.

Required skills

• High numerical aptitude and strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
