Commercial Manager – Manufacturing

About the role

A leading manufacturing business is seeking a commercially‑savvy Commercial Manager to join its finance team in Johannesburg. Reporting to the Divisional Executive, you will partner with sales and operations to drive commercial decision‑making, pricing strategy and profitability across the division.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the budgeting and forecasting process and prepare monthly management reports.
• Develop and maintain financial models, pricing models and transfer‑pricing structures to support strategic decisions.
• Partner with the sales team on pricing strategies, margin analysis and cost‑saving initiatives.
• Analyse budget‑vs‑actual performance, investigate variances and identify operational efficiencies.
• Deliver financial presentations, forecasts and ad‑hoc analysis for cross‑functional projects.
• Drive continuous improvement of financial processes and reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CIMA or CA(SA) advantageous.
• Proven experience in a commercial finance role, preferably within manufacturing.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence stakeholders.
• Excellent communication, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
