Commercial Manager – Legal & M&A Transactions

About the role

The Investment & Commercial Manager will act as the Executive Director’s right‑hand on every commercial transaction, contract and opportunity pursued by the Assets business. This is a hands‑on, embedded position focused on driving deals, rather than a back‑office legal function.

Key responsibilities

• Review, negotiate and finalise commercial contracts, shareholder agreements and service level agreements with partners, clients and suppliers.
• Evaluate new investment and acquisition opportunities, conducting commercial due diligence.
• Drive transactions through to completion, coordinating stakeholders and enforcing deadlines.
• Maintain a register of material exposures and implement risk mitigations.
• Work closely with the Group Secretary to schedule and report on key board meetings.
• Support the Executive Director by reducing time spent on transaction administration and improving commercial governance.

Required profile

• 8–12 years of relevant experience, preferably with a legal or commercial qualification.
• Demonstrated ability to execute transactions end‑to‑end, not limited to contract review.
• Entrepreneurial mindset, high ethical standards and resilience.
• Strong commercial judgement and ability to identify and manage risk.
• Willingness to work hands‑on within a small team environment.
